Sunday, Jul 19, 2026
Y Combinator’s dual push into India deepens: its alum JustAI closed a $17M Series A led by Base10 for AI marketing agents that have driven over $100M in client revenue, while YC itself is partnering with Polaris School to launch a student competition offering a direct interview path into its accelerator.
Together, the stories signal YC’s intent to both fund mature AI startups and cultivate early-stage talent from Indian dorm rooms, with JustAI also eyeing Indian expansion.

1. Y Combinator Launches Student Startup Track with Polaris School in India
Y Combinator has partnered with Polaris School of Technology and Emergent to launch the Vibecon Student Track, a build-first competition for Indian student teams.
Five finalist teams will compete in a live building sprint at Polaris’s Bengaluru campus on April 16–17, 2026, with the winner earning a direct interview for a YC cohort.
The top three teams will share $10,000 in cash prizes and over $10,000 in cloud credits from AWS, Anthropic, and Razorpay. The judging panel includes Razorpay co-founder Shashank Kumar and Lightspeed partner Hemant Mohapatra.
Polaris, a skills-first computer science program with a 200,000 sq ft residential campus, positions this as a direct path from an Indian dorm room to a global accelerator.
Key facts:
- Y Combinator partners with Polaris School of Technology and Emergent for Vibecon Student Track.
- Five student teams will compete in a live building sprint on April 16–17, 2026 in Bengaluru.
- Winning team receives a direct interview with YC partners for an upcoming cohort.
- Top three teams share $10,000 cash and over $10,000 in tools and cloud credits.
Why it matters: This partnership signals Y Combinator’s shift toward evaluating raw building ability over traditional credentials, opening a new gateway for Indian undergraduate founders outside elite networks.
By embedding a YC interview as the top prize, the program compresses the distance between local student builders and global venture capital.
It also strengthens Polaris’s positioning as a skills-first institution, potentially inspiring similar accelerator–university collaborations across emerging startup hubs.
2. Y Combinator alum JustAI raises $17M Series A for AI marketing
JustAI, an AI-driven marketing platform founded by former Twitter and Pinterest executives Neha Mittal and Jeff Hara, has closed a $17 million Series A round led by Base10.
Existing investors Y Combinator and Peak XV Partners joined, alongside strategic backers from Anthropic, Chime, HubSpot, and founders of Eppo and Vapi.
The startup says its AI agents handle over 600 marketing decisions monthly and generated more than $100 million in revenue for clients in the past year, serving companies like Coursera, ClickUp, and Better.
The new capital will go toward expanding engineering and go-to-market teams, advancing its agentic AI infrastructure, and broadening platform capabilities for e-commerce and B2B marketing.
JustAI also plans to hire engineering talent and explore expansion into India. The round follows a $1.
7 million seed in August 2024 from Peak XV, Y Combinator, and others.

As more startups copy this model, traditional campaign management software vendors face mounting pressure to integrate AI or lose market share.
